MYOB has recently released an updated version of its cloud based software called MYOB Essentials. This product was formally known as MYOB Live Accounts.
We have recently taken a look at this product for two clients and have been very impressed. It is easy to use, navigate, and seems very well pitched for the client with simple needs.
When you first sign up for the product a wizard coaches you through the beginning steps of establishing a Chart of Accounts, opening balances tax codes and establishing bank feeds.
The interface is clean and intuitive. The client can then invite in an advisor (such as ourselves at CloudCounting) to review the setup and provide feedback.
There are some really neat features such as within the balance sheet, you can expand a section to see the general ledger detail for the last month. The report area was easy to use, and some reports opened in *.pdf, others opened directly in the screen.
We would highly recommend clients who are considering a web based solution to take a look at MYOB Essentials and consider if this accounting software may be the right fit for them.
Clients with more complicated requirements, such as inventory, specialized payroll and / or foreign currency will most likely consider MYOB AccountRight Live as Essentials is not yet ready to accommodate for these features.
